satin jimjams #2

Filed under: misc — petiteanglaiseparis @ 8:44 pm

Those of you who were paying attention last January will remember a rash promise made by yours truly involving posing for the interweb in nothing but a pair of satin pyjamas. Luckily, I came second in the “best blog” category of the European Weblog Awards, and didn’t have to put my money where my (big) mouth was.

This year, I will refrain from trying to influence the voting in such an underhand way, but may I suggest that you spare a few seconds to take a look at this site and cast your votes as you see fit. There are some very good blogs represented there, and hopefully you may stumble across some others which tickle your fancy.

I am rather thinly spread across several categories once again, but I think petite anglaise is more a personal blog than an expat blog these days, don’t you think? I think the term “best” sounds very nice, but I’m not sure how one is supposed to quantify how much “better” one blog is than another.

  1. PS is it just me, or does that teddy look a little bit trussed up and uncomfortable in its blue, star spangled duct tape?

And isn’t it bad luck to wear a santa hat in February?

  2. I don’t care what kind of blog this is… it is one of my favorites right now. Keeps me laughing and wondering what is coming next. Isn’t that the important thing?

  3. I agree, he looks like he’s in a ransom note photo. Send marmalade sandwiches, or the bear gets it.

  4. Well, petite, I can tell you it was not an easy task to convince the teddy model to wear a satin pajama. He was a bit overweight at the time ;)… and not too willing to cooperate since all through the photoshoot he thought he would be displayed every year wearing a golden glam top held together behind his back by some firm female fingers. You can imagine his relief when he realised how photoshop had saved his dignity by turning the glam top into a satin pajama, featuring a European flag ;).

The santa cap is a reminder that we’re a bit late this year. So yes, bad luck – bad servers. But good luck to you, of course. Tobias

  7. Did my vote just now. Of course, at the right place. Maybe you should repeat your offer from the last time – you seem to be really in front of your competitors, so it would give us a good chance to get what we look for … Petite in Pyjamas.

  14. I’m also casting my vote for you this year, partly as a form of penitence, but also because you genuinely deserve it. Good luck!

  15. I bloody hate the term ‘humorous’, and am cross I didn’t make the ‘best expert or scholar’ category. That would have been a good one to go for.

However I would like it to be known that I won’t be posing in anything should I win one.

  20. petite,I’m from the states and love your blog full of everyday things romance and growth. And all in Paris to boot. How wonderful. At night when I can’t sleep from pain I push the button for your blog and it takes me away to what life might be living in a magic place. One of these days I will get there. In the mean time this blog takes me there for now. In hopes that you and tadpole never stop writing about your life’s adventures.
    Your friend,
