A kind reader has nominated petite anglaise as Best European Blog in the Wizzbang Weblog Awards for 2005. I must admit I can’t really keep a handle on what these different awards are/mean, but if you are at a loose end and feel like voting (apparently you can do this every 24 hours, bizarrely), then kindly step this way:

Are there enough categories?
I mean, it looks like how they do it at school where everyone gets an award even if they’re useless at what they’re doing.
In which case even I will get an award…
…okay, so the acceptance speech will cover my early years primarily….

yes, well, I did wonder why there wasn’t a “best blog by a bilingual adulteress category” or a “blogger with a bottom most ressembling J-Lo’s” or even a “blog featuring the most fetching turquoise beret”.
Most remiss of the organisers.

Best Blog Eyebrows?

Perhaps not entirely bizarre?… voting every 24 hrs may capture the essence of a ‘best blog-site’, that being being the compulsive need of readers to keep up with the latest blog on a daily basis. But I hope it doesn’t catch on for parliamentary elections!

The Canadian Blog Awards are on now, too, and it works the same way: you may vote once per day, per computer. (The voting system cookies you and records your I/P address.) Considering the nature of blogs, I think it’s a good system. In fact, I disagree with Fella, above. There’s a Canadian federal election next month. Maybe this would be an interesting change in voting protocol?
Meanwhile, Petite, you have my vote. In fact, I’m trying to vote right now, in anther browser window, and am having a heck of a time with it. I beg you, please, give us a direct link to wherever it is we can vote for you in your category. It’s too difficult, sorting through all those Best Sweater Blog and Best Backhanded Insult to a Spanish-Speaking Politician Blog and Best What I Had For Breakfast Yesterday Blog categories.
