dooce, meet zed!

Filed under: misc — petiteanglaiseparis @ 9:18 pm

I wouldn’t like to be inside zoe’s head tomorrow as I think she should by rights have a stonking hangover.

In the other categories: Dooce cleaned up, as did the Gawker Media empire.

I was ‘watching’ the ceremony unfold on IRC (very amusing indeed and not a little suspenseful) and I have a transcript available on request (email me if you want one).

  1. As ever, some worthy winners, some not what I would have chosen – ohh and I’d love a transcript as my PC was dedicated to recording some Stravinksy at the time!! (long story).

    Email on it’s way.

  2. hi, thanks for reminding me to look at the finalists. First of all, who voted?? wasn;t it only 50 people?

  4. dooce, is married to my former room mate and band mate who also has his own blog called blurbomat. I am so close to blog fame I can smell it.

It smells like your run of the mill fart pretty much.

I should have won for gayest new blog that nobody likes.

  5. Petite you woz robbed! And sorry, but zero respect for any competition that would claim Dooce a better writer than Zinnia. Puleese! BIG Congrats to Zoe though.

  6. Pity you didn’t get it, Petite. I agree with Claypot’s sentiments.

  7. I was, er, fashionably late for the ceremony on IRC owing to “technical reasons” (i.e. trying to work out how to install and work the thing.)

Anyway, congrats for coming so close… it’s been fun, this whole Bloggies lark…

  8. Hey, look at it this way, as someone else said somewhere, you were still in the top 5 of thousands and thousands. That’s damn good. (As I said to Mike, it took me three years of nominations to actually win one of these; I think you can definitely beat that!)

And you know you’re tops, right?

  9. I think we all know who our favourite is though.

See you Petite – I’m off to read Dooce.

Really well done on being nominated – you deserve it.

Is the transcription of the ceremony, or your reaction to not winning?

  10. I thought you were on the IRC. It was your comment on MBIAT that came up as I was Skyping with Zoe so I was able to break the news to her and get the Gwyneth Paltrow impression. She may have been drinking…

  11. david – ha ha – I wondered how that happened! I thought I was the first to tell her and then you beat me to it dammit.

watski – I was actually trying to brush tadpole’s teeth and read IRC at the same time so it was all very stressful. Mr Frog heard my cry of ‘oh flaps!’ and disappeared, only to reappear bearing a very large glass of wine. I can’t say I was surprised though. Defamer gets more hits in one day than I do in six months…

  12. david kay. you disappoint me. i hadn’t drunk enough to fall apart but even so, i did. i have emoticons, you see. petite, thank you for the mention, the first mention on my blog and even my first email – it means a lot to me.

i think that my emoticons are about to start heaving again …

  13. It’s a bit odd that Where is Raed? won for Best African/Middle Eastern blog despite lying fallow now for a year.

And needless to say, I wish Petite won. The Empire’s droids should compete in a separate category.
